1960s 2nd century

Judea and Galilee, present-day Israel. The last survivors of the civil war between Jews and Romans die. The relationship between these two opposing worldviews was doomed from the beginning. In the end, Rome prevailed, but at a heavy cost: over the course of several centuries, it squandered much of its military might in Judea and Galilee, dissipating much of its own irreplaceable vitality there, almost as much as the defeated Jews.
