USSR. The Kosberg Bureau (KBKhA) Design Bureau – Konstruktorskoe Buro KhimiAutomatiki (Chemical Automatics Design Bureau), was founded in 1941 in Moscow, evacuated to Berdsk, and then established in Voronezh, on the border with Ukraine. It developed the engines for the upper stages of the R-7: RD-105 for the lunar probes, RD-109 for the Vostok, RD-110 for the Soyuz, RD-107 for the Molniya, and the RD-0210 and RD-0212 for the Proton. It also had considerable experience in nuclear engines.
