Seth Neddermeyer, at 4,300 meters above sea level, uses a cloud chamber to detect incoming particles and records particles similar to electrons but 400 times heavier, both positively and negatively charged, with a decay time of 2.2 microseconds. They decay into electrons. We now know they were muons. It’s becoming clear that there’s still much to discover, and that muons are just the beginning…
