Germany uses 125 Zeppelin airships to bomb England. Eventually, however, the British learn how to shoot them down. They load the biplane fighters’ machine guns with alternating three types of shells: tracer, armor-piercing, and incendiary. Half of the German airships are shot down, and 40% of their crews die.
