New Zealand. Musket Wars. One of New Zealand’s Maori tribes, the Ngapuhi, adopts muskets, purchasing them from European settlers. Violent battles quickly erupt between the Maori tribes, and by 1833, all those who survived the Musket Wars had fully adopted firearms.
