United States. American General “Mad Anthony” Wayne, after years of war with the Ojibwa, Potawatomi, Mingo, Wyandot, Delaware, Miami, and Shawnee Indian tribes, signs the Treaty of Greenville, in which ten Indian tribes renounce all claims to Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan in exchange for an annual stipend, farm animals, and clothing. But there is one dissenting voice: that of Tecumseh (shooting star or flying panther), Shawnee chief, who refuses to abide by the agreement. Around his neck, Tecumseh wears a medallion given to him on behalf of King George III of England.
