Barrow, in his Optical and Geometric Lectures, published an early version of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, revised and commented on by Isaac Newton, who then expanded on the topic and proved it geometrically, in Newton’s own manner, very simply. Newton himself later fully understood its implications and used it profitably.
