Francisco Pizarro sets foot on the coast of Peru with 168 men, intent on conquering the Inca Empire, which numbered millions. Fortunately for him, and unfortunately for the Incas, five years earlier, the local population had been struck by a smallpox epidemic, killing a significant portion of the population, including Emperor Huyana Capac and his designated successor.
