Shang Dynasty in China: first proven use of the lunisolar calendar (12 or 13 months of 29 or 30 days); the days are independently counted sexagesimal, according to a tradition of the third millennium BC: 10 tiangan (heavenly trunks), 12 dizhi (earthly branches), 60 ganzhi (combinations); the 10 tiangan are: jia, Yi, bing, ding, wu, ji, geng, xin, ren, gui; the 12 dizhi are: zi, chou, yin, mao, chen, si, wu, wei, shen, you, xu, hai
