Paul Chu’s group in Houston, Texas, submits to Physical Review Letters the paper on the superconductivity of Ytterbium (YbBaCuO). Initially it was Yttrium, but then a few days before publication, they change it to Ytterbium. A few weeks later it will be shown that YbBaCuO is conductive at high temperatures around 90K.
