Washington, D.C. – Shepherd Doeleman of Harvard University and the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics shows the first image ever captured of a black hole’s event horizon. This image of the black hole in M87 was captured by a network of radio telescopes called the Event Horizon Telescope.
