Istanbul, Turkey. At least one man entered the Reina nightclub in Besictas, on the European side of the city, armed with a Kalashnikov and opened fire on the crowd gathered for the New Year’s Eve celebration. He then threw several grenades, and then fired again. Thirty-nine people were killed and 70 were injured. He was captured a few weeks later.
