Bamako, Mali. A group of 13 terrorists, believed to be led by Mokhtar Belmokhtar, entered the Radisson Hotel, a popular Western destination, shouting “Allahu Akhbar.” They blocked the exits, held more than 100 people hostage, released those who could recite verses from the Quran, and killed the rest. American and French special forces intervened. Twenty-seven people died.
