Garland, Texas. Shooting at a cartoon contest featuring the Prophet Muhammad. The attackers targeted the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, a suburb of Dallas, where a “contest” was underway, sponsored by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, which had offered $10,000 for the best (negative) drawing of Muhammad. The two men shot a guard, wounding him. The armed guards responded, killing the two attackers.
