United States. Women’s right to vote is a given; there have already been several female Secretaries of State, as have members of the Supreme Court, including three women (and two men) who in 2013 voted in favor of legalizing same-sex marriage. Only a century earlier, at the beginning of the 20th century, in the same country, the very idea of giving women the vote was considered outrageous by most; the possibility of having a woman on the Supreme Court or Secretary of State was simply ridiculous; homosexuality was a topic that could not even be mentioned.
