Jack S. Kilby wins the Nobel Prize in Physics for the invention of the first integrated circuit. He states: “I’m sorry that Noyce (with whom he had competed for the patent for a decade) is no longer with us: “If there had been any suspicion, I would have shared this prize with him.” He then goes on to say: “Hearing this kind of thing reminds me of the beaver saying to the rabbit in front of the Hoover Dam: ‘No, I didn’t build it, but it’s based on my idea.'”
