Svante Paabo publishes an article in Nature Genetics in which he highlights that Neanderthals, based on the DNA sequencing of some specimens, probably had little genetic variation, as did Homo sapiens, indicating that they were the product of a time when there were very few individuals capable of reproduction on the planet.
