Sara Jane Moore, who attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford by shooting him at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco but missed, served a life sentence in prison, but was released on December 31, 2007, at age 77, a few months after Gerald Ford’s death at age 93.
