Andrew Prentice claims (incorrectly) that the Sun has exhausted its hydrogen fuel and is therefore composed of a helium core. This would have triggered the final energy crisis of our star, which would take a few million years to reach the surface of the sun. This conjecture also stems from the fact that, at the time, solar neutrinos had not yet been detected in the quantities predicted by theory.
