NASA is concerned that the Soviet Luna 15 unmanned probe to the Moon might interfere with Apollo 11’s radio or course. For this reason, Frank Borman, commander of Apollo 8 and just back from an eight-day tour in the USSR, telephones Mstislav V. Keldish, head of the Institute of Applied Mathematics in Moscow, who reassures him about Luna 15’s orbital parameters. However, the probe will not complete its mission and will crash into the Moon on July 21.
