Apollo 10 (Saturn V SA-505): Thomas Stafford, John Young, and Eugene Cernan complete the first dress rehearsal for the Lunar Landing with the Command Module Charlie Brown and the Lunar Module Snoopy: they come within just 14.3 km of the lunar surface; the Saturn V is the F model. They thus come very close to the lunar surface, but the actual landing is planned for the next mission. Young and Cernan will have their chance to walk on the Moon later… (Apollo XVI and XVII respectively)
