Enrico Fermi testifies at the closed-door trial against Oppenheimer. In his testimony, he rejects the idea that Oppenheimer had somehow influenced the GAC members to vote against the hydrogen bomb program in October 1949. Fermi is also asked (off topic) whether, by remaining in Rome, he might have been able to intuit some of the secrets underlying the fission bomb, and Fermi responds positively.
