Tinian Island, Western Pacific Ocean. Parts for three nuclear implosion bombs (with plutonium charges) arrive on the island. One, unarmed, will be dropped into the Pacific on August 8th as a test; another is prepared the following day and will be dropped on Nagasaki; and the third will never be used.
