Warm Springs, Georgia. Franklin Delano Roosevelt poses for a portrait. He is relieved and smiling. He explains to those present that the war in Europe could end at any moment. FDR will die that afternoon of a cerebral hemorrhage. Three weeks later, Nazi Germany surrenders.
