Soviet Union. Os-Kur Mission near Ust-Usa. Retyunin, a free worker, gathers a couple of hundred detained volunteers, disarms the guards, and escapes on horseback into the Siberian forests. They are captured and killed one by one. For several years, people will be convicted for the “Retyunin case,” even though they had nothing to do with it.
