On Winston Churchill’s orders, and after the USSR entered the war as an ally, the Bletchley Park units that decrypted Soviet codes were closed. However, Poles working for the British were still asked to continue intercepting Soviet traffic and attempting to decrypt it. Bletchley Park resumed heavy interception of Soviet traffic in the summer of 1942, already anticipating the coming Cold War.
