Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact between Nazi Germany and the Communist Soviet Union: the Germans and the Soviets agree to divide Poland and give the Red Army a free hand in the Baltics. Only Hitler’s Operation Barbarossa will put an end to this agreement. In the first hours of the attack, Stalin will not believe the information he received, because he trusted Hitler. If it had not been for Hitler, history and the role of the Soviet Union and Communism in the fight against Nazi-fascism would have taken a different course.
