The Russian Vinogradov shows that any sufficiently large odd number can be represented as the sum of no more than 3 prime numbers (for example 1937 = 641 + 643 + 653); therefore any even number can be represented as the sum of no more than 4 prime numbers, simply by first representing n-3 and then adding 3 (which is prime).
