Emu War. War on the emus in Australia. The Australian government declares war on the emus, due to popular discontent over the destruction the animals are causing in cultivated fields. A military operation, complete with machine guns, attempts to exterminate the emus. The operation results in the killing of several hundred emus, but this makes no dent in their rapidly growing population of tens of thousands. The war ends in defeat for Australia and a victory for the Emu nation…
