Louis Leakey sets out on a mission to Africa funded by the British Museum. In the Rift Valley, between Tanzania and Kenya, he finds human bones and tools for stripping prey from bones. The finds will later be dated to 2 million years ago. Until then, it was believed that the world was created in 4004 BC, more precisely on Sunday, October 23, 4004 BC.
