Wilbur Wright’s exploits reached Europe shrouded in myth, and no one believed the tales of his prodigious feats. Wright was then tempted by the desire for solemn recognition in the skies of France: at Le Mans in August he flew 66 km, in December he flew first 99 km and then 124 km!
