United States. Philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce publishes an article in the magazine Popular Science Monthly titled “Illustrations of the Logic of Science,” which argues that there is no such thing as objective truth. Science strives for absolute truth, but can only ever approximate it. This will be the seed of what will later be called The Principle of Pragmatism.
