Smiljan, Yugoslavia. Dane, Nikola Tesla’s older brother, is killed by their horse. The Arabian horse had been donated by the local Muslim community to Nikola’s father, an Orthodox priest. Nikola was present during his brother’s accident; he was the favorite of his father, Milutin, who never recovered from the loss.
