Garibaldi and his Alpine Hunters arrive at San Fermo, heading towards Como. Garibaldi’s cunning action spreads panic among the enemy lines, but in the fierce fighting, Garibaldi’s commander De Cristoforis also loses his life. Eventually, the Austrians flee in rout. Late that night, Garibaldi finally enters Como, welcomed triumphantly by the population.
