Carlo Pisacane embarks from Genoa for Sapri, on the border between Basilicata and Campania, with 24 other revolutionaries, including Giovanni Nicotera and Giovan Battista Falcone, on the Rubattino Company’s liner Cagliari, originally bound for Tunis. The intention is to spark a revolt in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
