Crimea. Final assault on Sevastopol. The battle is bloody. Only by evening do the French manage to capture the Makaloff bastion, costing 1,500 dead, 1,400 missing, and 4,000 wounded. The British, however, fail to take the Grand Redant bastion and lose 1,500 killed and wounded.
