Milan. Fourth day of revolt. The situation is at an impasse. On the citizenry side, astronomers are mobilized, using telescopes to monitor the enemy from towers and bell towers; engineers and land registry clerks are searching for underground passages in the sewers or between houses; and the so-called martinitt, the boys from the city orphanage, are used as highly efficient messengers.
