Milan. Porta Nuova. The Austrians are making a mess: an officer emerges with a white banner shouting “Peace, peace!” Behind him is a line of Hungarian grenadiers with lowered rifles. Reaching the barricade, the soldiers open fire. Many die, the wounded are finished off by bayonets.
