Milan. Above the windows of the Caffe’ Cova (one of the city’s 117 cafés), the Circolo dell’Unione was founded, a secret committee that would be instrumental in the Five Days of 1848. In some rooms, a clandestine association, the Lions Club, was also formed, consisting of young aristocratic conspirators working for the Italian nation.
