France. The Allies are beginning to experience supply problems, far from their bases, with stretched lines of communication. Rural France has proven poorer than the Allies expected, and insufficient to support the troops through plunder and taxes. Furthermore, resistance from French peasants to requisitions and plunder is growing, and some supply lines are ambushed as they leave Switzerland. The biscuits are largely the same ones cooked in 1812, later dried out.
