Lorenzo di Piero de’ Medici, known as Lorenzo the Magnificent (Florence, January 1, 1449 – Florence, April 9, 1492), was an Italian writer, politician, and patron of the arts, Lord of Florence from 1469 until his death, a great man of letters and a patron of the arts belonging to the Medici dynasty.
