Pope Innocent IV and King Louis IX send letters to Khan Guyug, grandson of Genghis Khan. They urge him to abandon the plans of extermination and destruction perpetrated by his predecessors and convert. He responds that, unfortunately, he cannot do so, as heaven is guiding him.
