Charlemagne seizes the Ring (the headquarters where the enormous spoils of war were accumulated) from the Avars. Their leader, Tuduno, submits and converts to Christianity. He is baptized in Aachen and has as his godfather Charlemagne, who annexes the western part of the Avar Empire, between the Danube and the Drava.
