1200 BC – 1000 AD

Thanks to the technology of three-hulled canoes, the islands of Polynesia and Micronesia in the Pacific Ocean were reached and populated by the Austronesians, first coming from the island of Formosa, now Taiwan (3500 BC), then gradually moving to the Philippines, then Borneo, then the other islands of Indonesia and finally Polynesia and Micronesia.
