He realizes his plan won’t work; his imaginary victims won’t be in the concert square. So he begins to walk, very nervous, in front of the Eugene Winstube, a small wine bar located directly in front of the archway under which those entering the square are forced to pass. At a certain point, he approaches the tables and the explosion occurs.
