Domestication of the first fruit trees such as olives, figs, walnuts, dates, grape vines. Compared to cereals and legumes, they have the distinct disadvantage that they do not begin to bear fruit until at least three years after being planted, and do not reach full production rate before 10 years. This presupposes an already established permanent economy and the possibility of planning with this time horizon.
